Bridging the cultural gap one book at a time
Project Nalanda is an initiative that aims at preserving and nurturing the culture of India. We want to develop a network of libraries from where people can borrow books in Indian languages and books by Indian authors. We can not accomplish this without the help of our donors, our volunteers, and most importantly people looking to read these books. Please help us make this project successful so we can always stay close to our roots, however high we may fly.
Lets peep into past to perceive the future
“The taller a tree, the deeper its roots.”
“If you know where you are from, it is harder for people to stop you where you are going.”
― Matshona Dhliwayo
We at Project Nalanda believe that one needs to know their roots to better understand and appreciate the world around them. And what better way to connect to your roots than books?
Project Nalanda aims to make books of different Indian languages available in United States. We aim to do so by developing a nationwide network of "home libraries".
We organize book drives where we take donations in the form of books (used or new) and make them available to readers in their local areas through “home libraries”
Currently, have already established 6 home libraries for Gujarati books in the DFW area. And are looking to add more home libraries in different Indian languages. but if you are looking for a Gujarati Library, you have reached the right place.
We request support in the form of donations and volunteers. We are also in need of guidance from different Indian communities to help us establish more “home libraries”
